| It is no pleasure to play with Black against the Bird-Opening (1.f4) – one is vaguely familiar with some bad disasters, but less familiar with ways to avoid them. This opening theory in the traditional sense to learn. The focus lies rather on plans and manoeuvres, which can be applied in a variety of ways. To allow the opening into a compact database: 14 texts contain links to 200 illustrative games. The Russian does not hide his liking for the white side. But also comes up with solutions for the second player, who obviously profits from knowing White’s plan. Another database contains the approximately 15000 games ChessBase has to offer about this opening. The CD is rounded off by a tree of all games and two training databases dealing with tactics/traps and strategy/plans. |
