aaron from brooklyn Novag Obsidian Chess Computer Reviewthis is a very very very strong opponent,even on the easy levels. i don't know what it's novice or easy levels uscf or elo ratings are, but they are definitely above 1400. get this computer if you are a very strong player, otherwise you will be frustrated in losing. get a chess computer for beginners if you are a novice,beginner,or a player whose uscf rating is under 1400. otherwise, this is an extremely well crafted work of art and the carrying case is much better than the one with the mephisto chess master. the pieces are wood and i have the feel of playing actual chess moreso than with the smaller plastic mephisto pieces. novag is still novag, but mephisto is no longer saitek as madcatz purchased it. both novag and mephisto are assembled in china.again , this is a great chess computer and even looks fine displayed,even on a coffee table. i wholeheartedly endorse this computer unless if you are a weaker player.
