Excellent pieces, well weighted, somewhat bigger than I was expecting (but my concept of an inch is kinda bad lol). As mentioned previously the Queens are noticeably pointy, I had them make friends with a file and minimized the issue.

Because the set is fairly inexpensive you don't have to worry so much if you loose a piece or break a piece and you can easily replace the set. I love this set!

The queen's crown IS sharp, but it is not an issue for us. The pieces have already survived a fair amount of heavy use (abuse) and have stood up to the challenge admirably. 1. Heavy Tournament with 3 3/4" King very good value shinny plastic - Knight look - bulk king crown and - grey white. My note: 3.5/5
2. Executive with 4" King good value with combo set nice pieces - mate finish. some people prefer shinny plastic and wrote negative reviews. My note: 4/5
3. Premium with 4 1/8" King good value with combo set heavy and tall shinny plastic ivory White - King too big for Queen/Bishop/Knight/Rook size - crown Queen too sharp -my note: 5/5
4. Hastings Staunton with 3.875" King awesome Knight details as $1000 wood pieces set- Knight too small (less than Rook) - too small padmate finish and natural colour is brown yellow. My note: 5/5

Anyone would love the weight and feel of each piece. Even the pawns have a nice weight. The Kings tower over the entire board. The pieces are shiny with a beautiful design. The light pieces are an off white and are beautiful. The dark pieces do not have a dull look. They are also beautiful. I like this set and price better than the Super Staunton Chess pieces. Everyone I have played ask where I got the pieces from. These are the pieces to get.

Yes, they do have some mold lines but each piece is so big and sturdy you really don't really even notice them and the quality is fantastic. When playing it's like you're moving Tanks pieces on the board! Make sure you also purchase the Mouse Pad chess board to protect the bottoms of these pieces and your table. The weight and base of each piece is huge so it's great for outdoor blitz play and windy conditions. I loved the set even though I was expecting a much smaller set. Enjoy them at a great price. Just make sure you're ok with a big set.

They are exactly as pictured & are a quality hefty plastic set. Don't spend anything more if this is what you are looking for. The felts are perfectly placed. Minor Note: The only thing that people may not like about the set is the queens are very pointy & may snag or tear a thin fabric if you use that type of thing to carry your pieces in. For this, I would give it no less than 4 out of 5. This set is a steal!**NOTE: I also ordered this Folding PVC Chessboard to use with this set in the tournament and the pieces are "slightly large" on the squares (particularly the king) but I like how they fit & it worked great. I received many compliments!

If you are looking for a well-weighted plastic set that is not only very functional but also attractive to look at, this is the one to get.. I prefer it to my House of Staunton plastic set. I personally like heavy pieces and this set fits the bill. The only downside to the pieces is that the "usual" vinyl or mousepad boards seem too small for them, and I ended up buying a roll-up board (2.5 inch squares) from another vendor.
