Though neither of us really know how to play chess, this set makes for a wonderful quite time together. As for the quality, they are very solid and I have no doubt of their long life ahead.

It is a very attractive set, well-carved and simple in design. Each piece has a felt bottom to reduce the possibility of scratching a wood board. The set does NOT come with the now customary 2 extra queens. The one quibble I have with the set comes from my own preference: the pieces are not very heavy and can be easily toppled by a bump to the chessboard on which they sit. Nonetheless, I deem it a good value for the price.

My coffee shop pals love playing with this set even though we have very nice tournament sets to play with. I do find these pieces to be stable and sufficiently weighted.
