with 12 inch board ReviewThis set is now my travel companion. It is small yet large enough to play along with: books, games, puzzles, anything you need it for (except for tournament games of course). I feel I can carry this inside a coffee shop and not get stares that I am going to hog the table and some chess club meet ups don't have large enough tables, this is perfect. I now have the large and small sets and I take whichever one is appropriate. One tip though, if you spend over $100, you can get this set for free! Which is a real bonus.

I felt that they are a little on the light side and might add some weight to them later. Finally, I would not fold this board for storage in the provided bag as shown as I don't think the small vinyl would ever flatten out again.

Comes with bag and piece guaranty. Cons: If not used often the vinyl can be come creased but an iron should flatten that out. no extra queens, no color choice in the pieces to match the other board colors. All and All I am excited to have this board and plan to get some great travel out of it. I chose traditional Black and White and it looks sharp. Enjoy.

Have been playing on it since I got it and really enjoy it. Not happy with that I didn't get my free gift. I would have really liked the quality chess scorebook but got confused at checkout and couldn't find the gift link. The salesman said that they would make it right next time I ordered if I called and reminded them. I will keep you updated on that.

The larger boards are difficult to store. They need to stay flat or they curl during play. The smaller board is more practical for a large chess club.

The roll-up board is of the same thickness and quality as larger tournament-sized vinyl boards, the pieces are smaller versions of the plastic club sets that chessplayers see at every tournament, and the storage bag holds the pieces with plenty of room to spare. This set would work best on a flat playing surface, since the pieces are not weighted. Good value.
