PREMIER COLLECTION: CHEVALIER SERIES - EBONY

Chevalier is French for Knight, a rank in the Légion d'honneur for members of the Ordre National du Mérite (in English: The National Order of Merit), an Order of Chivalry awarded by the President of the French Republic. The Order can be awarded, for distinguished civil and military achievements. The President of the French Republic is the Grand Master of the Order. The Chevalier Series from our Premier Collection is Crafted from Ebony and Boxwood. Ebony is one of the most intensely black, fine-grained woods known, which, combined with its very high density (it is one of the very few woods that sink in water), fine texture, and ability to polish very smoothly, has made it very valuable as an ornamental wood. The King stands 4" tall with a 1 7/8" base. From the chivalrous Knight to the stalwart Rook, these pieces are sure to catch the eye.
