Customer Reviews of Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue
SmĂri from KĂpavogur Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewOverall I'm very pleased with this clock, both look, feel and functionality. I like the weight of he buttons. I like that you can choose to have the lights and sound on or off (I never use sound though). I like the coach's favourite function and it didn't take me long to grasp how to use the cock. One problem though: Soon after setting the coach's favourite (don't know if that had anything to do with it) it completely froze. Even when I tried to turn it off both displays and lights were still on! I took out the batteries and put them back in, which solved the problem, but of course I don't know if this will happen again. Without this incident I would have given it 5*.
Luis from Oceanside Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewMy son loves playing with this one. The buttons lit up during play.
Chetan from Palo Alto, CA Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThis clock looks and feels much better than it shows on the site. It,s well made and is full function. My son,s chess teacher was very happy we bought it. It's a great value too! Buy this today with their premier tournament chess set. It's worth it!
david from tucson Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue Reviewnot familiar yet with the complex programs. No indication of an assigned time for simple game.May be more complicated that I thought. I may have to return it for a simpler clock.
John from L.A. Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewWorks great. Simple to use, sturdy, won't tip. Great value for the money.
arthman from california Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewIt's a great product.given to my grandson on his 9th birth day.He is the district champion in his age group.
Paul from Tumwater Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThese clocks are wonderful! We bought twelve of them for our team practice and tournaments. Easy to use and durable and the price is very reasonable.
Laryrn from Roy, UT Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewEasy to use - good investment for our school's chess club
kenneth from orange Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewI am very satisfied with it, I absolutely love it. it was the perfect timer for what i was looking for. It is easy to tote around, durable and many functions to use for when i need to.
Michael from Toronto Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewIts a nice clock. My only complaint is that it breaks kinda easily. Mine hasn't broke yet. I'll let you if it does. otherwise, pretty good
Andrew from Wake Forest, NC Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewWorks great, I am very pleased with the product. For the money it's a very good buy it. It supports several modes of play, some even for non-chess games (Scrabble and the like). Seems durable enough. Once you play with it a bit it is easy to use, but initially I was a little lost - RTFM.
Bob from Houston Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewA good a-around clock. I bought one last year to try out in our chess class, and it held up well. I'm getting four more to add to our class stock and replace some that weren't as durable.
Kevin from Florissant Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewVery nice product, everything I hoped it would be. Do wish it came with protective cover for storage
Kairav from Coeur d'Alene Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThis is the least expensive digital clock out there. Although it isn't as good as the chronos and the more expensive DGT clocks, it is good enough for the average tournament player. It gets the job done and the price is good. I recommend buying it.. unless if money is no matter.. in that case, buy a better one.
Dustin from Lehi, UT Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThis clock is everything I hoped it would be. I'm not sure what some reviewers found difficult about it, it has been quite easy to use. It is very well built and aside from possibly knocking it off a table, I think it would withstand even the most heavy handed players (like myself).
Jon from Aurora Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewI thought I did my homework, but you can't store asymmetrical tournament settings as the "user" (4A) function. I got this to play/coach my daughters, and thus I nearly always have different times, but have to edit it every game if I want to use the delay function. You can save asymmetrical Blitz settings, so that's good. And honestly, it's easy to edit with barely a glance at the manual, so not a huge nit.Otherwise, seems fine. I have little experience with chess clocks, but it seems to do the job. Kind of wish I'd sprung for the Saitek III model, though. Be sure to read the manual before purchasing, just in case.
pnr from austin Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThe Customer service at wholesale chess is outstanding !!!!Great timer, kids love itWe purchased a chess set, mousepad board, chess clock, and a tournament bag. One of the zippers on the bag did not work. and wholesale chess sent a new one right away. I highly recommend them to everyone.
Jeff from Phoenix Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewBetter off with a Chronos. These are obviously cheaper, and they function decently, but they are very difficult to set (even with instructions) and not really standard. They are ugly and liable to break as I have known several to do when they take a spill from a table. They will last a few years, but Chronos never breaks, and on the rare occasion it does, it's very easy to get fixed. Unless you are on a really tight budget, save up for a better clock.
ioann from brooklyn Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue Reviewnot good on-off switch, location and need divide it from another
Ryan from Virginia Beach Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThis is a great clock. The controls are fairly intuitive, and the manual is well written. Don't forget to pick up 2-"C" cell batteries (not included) or you'll be staring at a nice paperweight until you do!
Greg from Menasha Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewPurchased as a gift for a less-than-average price, this clock is attractive, simple to use, and sturdy in appearance. Saitek seems to be the scholastic clock of choice here in Wisconsin and I can see why. The lighted stop-start buttons are a nice feature.
Leon from Portland Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewClock is OK, however the control is rather complicated.I was not able to set it up without reading the manual.I would think that to set a time on a clock should be obvious.
SAK from Rockville Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewThis is a very nice clock for a beginner/advanced player. It has different settings and very easy to use. My son is very eager to play chess after getting this.
Andy from D.C. Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewGreat clock! It has tons of settings and it works well.
Yoli from Yelm Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewI purchased this clock for my 6 year-old. It's extremely easy to use and perfectly meets his needs.
Jason from Old Bridge Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewI live in a house with 8 other men and we abuse this thing every day. we play on average 80 games a day and it just sits there and takes it. if this breaks in less than a year, I'll let you know. I think I got my $25 worth.
Danny from Rowlett, Texas Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewLove it. It does everything I want and more. Having a blast with it.
Chess Coach from MN Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewWe bought a dozen of these last year. Pro: They do the job at a good price. Cons are (when used by elementary school players): (1) The button mechanisms get misaligned in "normal use" (hard slapping and obsessive play as if it were a video game controller). (2) With the kids, it would be better to be able to lock out unused modes. (3) It's not made out of stainless steel and teflon. NOTE: the clock definitely does support incremental clock settings. They are the 2A-2C presets or you can program your own.
Josh from Chicago Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewBought 2 digital clocks for a new club, this is the first digital clock I've used. Pretty easy but I'm good with these things usually. Great price and it has light/sound optionally on/off.
Keith from Seattle Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewGreat timer. Bottom of timer has all the settings listed so no need to carry extra paperwork or manuals. Very straight forward and easy to use. Love being able to have a user setting too.
Al from Henderson, NV Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewOne of these is on its third set of batteries, is being used 4-5 days a week for two to three hours a day to play 5 min blitz chess at Boys & Girls Clubs. It gets a lot of work and takes a beating. Love it. Have six more we use for tournaments.
Amateur chess from Stephenville, TX Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewDecent clock, my only complaint is that it does not support the increment (USCF) mode.
saul from toms%20river Saitek Chess Competition Game Clock - Scholastic Blue ReviewA great, accurate clock.
