Although I am new to shopping on the internet, I am quite impressed with the quality and quantity (variety) of chess items you currently offer. I am particularly pleased with your reasonable shipping rates. Some of your competitors, e.g., USCF and HOS, charge, it seems to me, far too much for handling and shipping via UPS Ground and regular postal services. Thanks for the opportunity to express my opinion concerning your services.

I ordered 2-Basic Starter Chess sets. They arrived quickly, and everything was in order. The pieces are good size, and the board provides plenty of space between pieces; not crowded. The price was good too!

My wife and I just bought 2 sets of weighted 2-1/2″ chess pieces to replace the pieces in a Classic Game Collection Chess, Checkers and Backgammon set that we had purchased at Tom’s Toys. Their set was not weighted. We wanted a set with spare Queens. I found your set after several hours searching for a weighted, ebony colored/light wood set that would work on the included boards 1-1/8″ squares. Your two sets were so reasonably priced that we now have weighted chess pieces of the right size, color, carving quality, finish, weight and with extra Queens. We are more than happy and will buy more items from you in the future.

I teach chess and always recommend your site for students and groups wanting to buy equipment. You have good prices and quick delivery.
(It’s probably unavoidable, but that intense chemical smell that comes with the roll-up vinyl boards takes days to air out and smells suspiciously toxic in the meantime. Any solutions?)

@ Amy – Please call our office and we will replace those pieces – they are defective, and not up to the quality we expect in our pieces. Lumpy pieces are no fun at all.

@ Richard – I apologize for the smell – that smell is code for ‘fresh product’. The boards have to be treated like a freshly purchased vinyl shower curtain – left out to air out for a day or two. We’ve not discovered any solutions to the smell as of yet.

Re: Shirts. My kids in my chess class have been talking about shirts, but what we want is a shirt with a knight on it, not a pawn, and the kids want it to say “CHESS ROCKS” on the back with the option of putting the name of our club on the front. We envision a circle with the name of our club around a knight. We were going to do navy blue with a gold knight and gold letters.

Thanks for replacing my broken rook. Junior High kids can be rough on chess sets! The service I received from Wholesale Chess was wonderful, and it is a great place to get medals for the kids in my chess tournament. Great Chess Clock.
This clock is Sturdy, durable and can take a beating from middle school kids. Easy to use, Batteries last a long time, and has a good size display for the visually challenged. Highly Recommended.

I got tactics 1 on free weekend media deal and today I got tactics 2 on the same media deal – both purchases are based on the friendly shipping costs. Your stuff is priced right but free media deal makes it happen. Used chess books, sell at one price buy back for a credit for other books would be nice – amazon has a few great dealers but the rest I won’t deal with.

I am satisfied with my chess sets. I ordered 2 one for myself and the other for my nephews. The greatest thing that I like about the chess sets is the weight. I’m able to travel with my set without any problems. My nephews are twins and they were excited to receive their chess boards because they originally learned how to play chess on boards like I purchased. I enjoy the boards so much that I’ve let my friends know how excited I am and they are now interested in purchasing boards in the near future. Thanks for such a wonderful product.

I have purchased several things from Wholesale Chess over the years and they are my first and last shopping stop. The first thing I look for is price, but the most important thing to me is service. Wholesale Chess has been absolutely impeccable in this regard. They go far beyond fair in a way that is reminiscent of the “old days” of customer service. At the end of the day, the only chess related items I buy elsewhere are things that Wholesale doesn’t carry, and there is very little of that.

The analysis set is exactly what I wanted. The pieces are lightweight, but I knew that in advance. The felt pads are easily lifted up to insert tiny lead fishing weights inside the pieces and then stick down the felt pads as they were. This produces a remarkable difference in “feel” and makes them more stable. Takes only minutes and a few cents per piece for the lead. Delivery time on the set was unbeatable! Thanks!

I ordered this chess set online. And in a couple of days, it was here. I was surprised how fast it came. The black nylon case with shoulder strap, the vinyl chess board and the heavier pieces make chess both portable and fun. I bought one for myself and a friend. We both love them and plan to buy more for others.

I’m quite satisfied with the sets that I ordered. Your prices made it possible for us to start up a small school club. As soon as it grows, we’ll be ordering from you again. One small criticism, though: everything that we ordered was well packed, and shipped in a sturdy box. Nothing was fragile. The extra space in the box could have easily been filled with shredded scrap paper or other recyclable or compostable filler, rather than styrofoam packing “peanuts”.

The price was good, the shipping was on time. 3 of the 5 clocks arrived with damaged glass, but you immediately shipped replacements at no charge when I informed you of the problem. Count me satisfied.

To be honest. I have ordered from other chess vendors. And it was pretty easy to notice the wholesale chess really made a very big improvement on there price and selection. Along with there large variety of shipping methods with explanation’s of tracking and insurance gave me comfort that my product would be delivered on time and safely. I was pretty happy. That match up a price form another vendor and in other cases out right beat there price. Not bad at all. That will insure my return to wholesale chess!

I ordered the Rosewood Fianchetto chess pieces and am quite pleased with them! The are well made and are much heavier than most chess sets,the detail on the chess pieces is very good,what you would expect on a chess set that would cost several hundred dollars.The pictures of the chess set don’t do it justice as the chess pieces are far more attractive in person than the pictures show.

I really like the different colored hard plastic pieces while playing in the board game requiring different colors. I play PLEX, 4-MAN CHESS, 3-MAN CHESS, and Courier. Hopefully in the near future you can make these colors: TAN, BROWN, LIME, AND ORANGE.

Order came in a very timely manner, was correct and I was very happy with it. The equipment is being donated by me to a university just starting a chess club and the kids are very excited about it. It was fun getting the colored pieces so they can play their school colors against one another when just playing fun games.

@ Dan – I assume you’re talking about shipping estimates? We don’t ‘take our time’ – we send your package out as soon as payment clears and UPS can come and pick it up. The shipping estimates are those that UPS offers – they give themselves buffer time in case of inclement weather, etc.

I ordered on-line one afternoon with regular ground delivery to California, and it was shipped-out that very same day. It couldn’t have been more than a couple of days before it actually arrived. Shipping was lightening fast! Very satisfied with the whole process. Additionally, I had placed an order previously, and right after I placed it, I decided I needed to change something. I e-mailed to Wholesale Chess and they caught the order just as it was about to go out and canceled it for me. These guys definitely are not taking their time to get orders out. I’ll order again from them.

I am really enjoying the Caro Kann DVD I really cannot beleive the difference in Grandmaster and International Master instruction. I have been inactive for awhile and now I am almost ready to play chess again.

We received our human-size chess board very quickly. We shopped around forever to try and find the most inexpensive board we could, and this was the place! The chess board, however, is huge and of great quality. We’ll be using this for years to come.

I received my shipment of the Executive Tournament Chess Set Combo and the Traditional Folding Rosewood Chess Set. They arrived within a week of my order (as expected).
I am enjoying the Rosewood chess set, but I was a little disappointed with the cheap quality of the Executive Chess Set pieces. The plastic mold markings are prominent on each piece, and the felts are quite thin. On arrival the felts were improperly placed on several pieces, and the weights had fallen out of a few pawns. I don’t get the feeling the pieces are going to stand up to extensive use. There is not much surface area on the piece bottoms on which the felts can stay glued. I will try re-centering and reinforcing the felts with some additional glue, but with a name like “Executive Chess Set”, I was expecting more.

I got my order of a simple Staunton set on only 4 days, a lot faster than the 5-9 days that was promised. The set is high-quality resin, with a nice heavy weight.
Wholesale Chess will definitely be my go-to site when I want to upgrade my board. Great works, folks!

This is the first time I have been in any way disappointed with something from Wholesale Chess – even if it was a minor thing. But, with the Basic Chess set combo burgundy, the bags were on the smaller size to the point where I almost could not get all 32 pieces in the bag. Also, I thought I was getting the ones with handles and the place to stick the rolled up board into- the carrying case type – but that may be my mistake. Otherwise, I have been very happy with everything about Wholsesale Chess- and our chess club is flourishing with twice as many students from last year – 90 players this year.

@ Fr. Brian Conner – Thanks for the feedback, Brain. I double checked your order to make sure we sent you the correct bags, and you did order the Basic Club Combo which comes with the smaller bags. This is the first I’ve heard about the basic pieces not fitting well – and we’ve sold thousands of the Basic Combos. They are a snug fit – but they shouldn’t put up too much of a fight for you. Thanks for pointing out the troubles.

I am starting a chess club in a Title 1 school here in Texas. The other club sponsor and myself have to pay for the club out of our own pockets and Wholesale Chess really does provide a good bang for the buck.
I have a ton of chess sets already so I was really looking for some inexpensive chess themed giveaways. The kids don’t get many free things so the keychain set & pencils were really well received. They use the keychains as a way to identify themselves as being club members. Plus, they showed off their pencils which are much nicer in person.
Since so many kids have never played chess, so the Buddy Boards are a totally amazing idea! Hopefully, we’ll get some money saved up and buy more. They really are great aids for beginners and experienced players alike.

I have purchased your basic club sets for a number of different clubs and always recommended you for individuals looking to buy. As always, quality, service, and price were excellent.
One suggestion: The vinyl roll-up boards come with a strong unpleasant chemical smell, which eventually goes away, but slowly. Would there be any way you could air them out before sending them to customers?

I like the vendor as the selection is as good as it gets and the prices are outstanding. Finding the Kasparov CD is not difficult to get but if I wanted to get the Karpov CD I cannot find it no where else.

I bought some of the cheaper items at the wholesale price and was pleasently surprised to find that they were a little bit better quality than I was expecting. I’m thankful that you guys called me when my credit card didn’t work. In the past when a sale couldn’t go through for one reason or another on other sites. What can I say about Wholesale Chess, other than I’m totally satisfied with they’re service & product. I bought a damaged portable chess set and I have trouble finding the damage/ding and my friends ahvn’t noticed it. The chess set looks great and have played many games with it. I bought a Scratch & Dent product (folding magnetic wooden chess set) that was in really amazing condition. I expected something with a big mark or really damaged in someway (it cost me $20 for a $100 product), but there was only a TINY defect. One hinge of the folding board was broken at one connection point. So I got an GREAT magnetic chessboard super cheap. I was going to give it away as a prize to my chess team, but after opening it and seeing how awesome it is, I really want to keep it for myself. And, as usual, it came promptly with the WSC customer service.

Wholesale Chess will make my son’s Christmas!! He is really into chess this year (he’s 9), and has been playing with a small wooden set. His favorite color is green and we ordered the glass and green set and board. Wow – it arrived in 2 days in great condition, and even came with extra pads for the pieces. He is going to freak out!! The quality chess set combo is perfect for beginner and advance chess players. As a chess coach, I always recommend my students play on board with ranks and files that have letters and numbers. This set is only one step above what is use in chess clubs. Tough and durable board with very attactive chess pieces. They will make great gifts for my god-children. I have ordered over a hundred sets from wholesale chess and have never been disappointed.

Your service and communication have been excellent as always. I have ordered several items from wholesale chess and have been very happy. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the Super Staunton Collector Chess Pieces with 4″ King. I was very disappointed. It seems to be made of a cheap, dull plastic. The Black pieces are rough and dull, with no shine. Almost all the pieces have small gouges and plastic “burrs” at the base, as if they were pulled off the molds too fast.
I have a Marshall set by The House of Staunton that is far superior to this set. The fault is not yours but the manufacturer (Made in China?). Have you opened the box and looked at a few of these sets lately? This one does not match the glowing words in the product description of your website.
I will be returning the Super set to you for a full refund.

Instead of ordering the bulk right sets or providing explanations why these sets are no longer available Lyndia from the the customer service recommended me either smaller of larger boards sets.

I ordered a chess set with canvas bag. One pocket that holds the pieces was sewn into the center of the bag. I emailed wholesale chess, and I received another bag promptly (although after Christmas)… The chess pieces leave much to be desired. The weight on the king pieces sticks out of the bottom at an angle so the king does not sit flat. One queen has (what my kid calls) a booger on the top. I know it’s not one of those ‘expensive’ sets, but for a $25 plastic chess set, it ought to be a little nicer…
Like I said, the service is great, but their product is poor.

I am a beguinner , after consulting with the man rep. I ordered ” Fritz Twelve ” CD. The basic chess lessons by an Australian are average, it takes a while to get used to the Aussie accent, HOWEVER the actual games against the computer with humorous comments and hints and possibilities is GREAT. In a few games I have developed confidence in at least opening strategy. I am looking forward to the other possibilities that program offers.

This was our third or fourth order and we have always been pleased. My guys have been wanting to upgrade to Chronos clocks which have been out of stock. Signed up for the “notify when available” email and placed this order as soon as I read it (Dec 22). They happily got a tracking number IOU under the tree and the clocks arrived on Jan 4. Apparently free ground was extra slow with two long holiday weekends, other orders have arrived in less than a week.
Someone had to be home to sign for this package which I was not expecting. Not sure if that is a policy with clocks or at a certain price point ($180) but you might want to use a business address for this type of order.

The quality club set had a few flaws in some of the pieces; still perfectly fine for club use but I’m a perfectionist. I ordered a second set and combined the best of each to make one set that met my standards. Still satisfied though. Nice set now, and I have a bunch of “spare parts”.

Great products: Win with the London System is a sorely needed update to the Soltis classic that provides a nearly-complete white-side opening system (Oh and wholesalechess.com matched a price so I got to order this book and the DVD, I’m about to mention in one nice, neat order!); the other is The Pirc Defense DVD by Nigel Davies (a nearly 7 hour video) that covers all the main lines of the Pirc and explains the ideas for both sides in detail — he really does make yo feel like you are sitting right there!

I checked out 12 different websites to find the “right” Chess Set gift for my 80 year old father & found it in the Jowisz Staunton Complete Chess Set . . . it’s the perfect size & price and since the sides are both lettered & numbered it makes it perfect for him to relearn the game . . . since it’s a folding board with the pieces seated inside it in a protective form-fit plastic shell, that makes it even more perfect . . . the chess pieces are wood with felt bottoms, and are easy to handle and play with . . . the price for this set was either higher or the same on other sites, but I chose Wholesale Chess as the company to order from because they offered lower shipping and a faster delivery time . . . and this set arrived on the promised day in excellent condition . . . if I need any more supplies, I’ll definitely use Wholesale Chess again!!!

Very pleased with the W.S.C. Basic Wood Clock and the fast, professional service. Had a question about how to turn it off which was addressed promptly by customer service – place both buttons in the mid position.
One minor word of caution – my clock came “wound tight” out of the box (apparently that way from the factory) which could have been a problem as my first reaction was to partially wind the clocks to start them. Fortunately, I started on the one that had at least a quarter turn of slack and therefore anticipated the second to be also near tight. It was wound dead tight. Had I started with that one, maybe it would have ended with a broken spring.
I then let them both run down (about twelve hours each) and with just a couple of turns is enough to play – no need to ever wind them up beyond that.

Immediately as I received the items that I ordered I sent you a message concerning your quick shipment and how pleased I was.
The only small problem I find is that the display chess board bag is just a little tight to put the display pieces in easily and the zipper will fail soon if I keep jamming it in.
The older display cases that I have are made of cloth and the construction is loose. I know you didn’t designed it, you are just the seller.
Since I reside in California, I am pleased that you are in Utah. I will keep ordering from you in the future instead USCF. The shipping charges of $3.99 are quite reasonable.

Very excited about my tournament chess set, nice weight and feel, the Queen crown is a bit sharp. The person that I ordered my chess set from I believe was Kevin, very nice and helpful, he recommended the digital Premier Saitek Competition Pro Game Clock III and the Tournament Chess Set Combo with large board and bag. I love the big mouse pad type board and the clock is fantastic, 1 of the best features of the clock is the light on the top that turns red when your time is up.
I’m sure they will be getting more of my business along with all my friends.

I received the order sooner than I thought…via the USPS.
the product was easy to load, I’ve tried a few excersizes with it, it gave up
I bit disappointed…the excersize was K and 2 bishops vs K.
I also tried a chess problem with it and it was perfect.
I haven’t had time to play a full game with it yet but I expect to get clobbered. My on-line playing strength is only 2200 on Gold Token.
I would recommend your store to anybody who is interested in bettering their play.
I look forward to the programs learning tools and hopefully I can make my game stronger

Fritz 12 exceeded all my expectations. It is really a great program with great graphics. I have always bought Chessmaster from as far back as I know. I am now a Fritz convert. I liked the ‘ribbon’ which is similar to Word 2007. I would recommend it to everybody. I wanted to get the Pocket Fritz but I am hard put to find a description of what it is. Whether it is a program apps for some other hardware or it comes with its own hardware. I would have liked the portability. But I am okay with Fritz 12.

Wholesale Chess has the best prices and fast delivery. I upgraded my chess software from Fritz 8 to Fritz 12. I really like the new Fritz 12, it installed very easily and is very easy to use. The new interface is much easier to use than the older Fritz programs. I very highly recommend Fritz 12 to everyone, no matter what your playing experience might be. I was very excited to get my tournament chess package, It is very nice. After getting it i noticed that the pouches on the inside are not exactly what i was thinking they would be. The pouches are exactly fit to the pieces even though i imagined that they would be a little roomier. The zippers a very delicate but good quality. I imagined the zippers would be more bulky so i am a little concerned that i might break one if i am not careful. Regardless, a chess set should always be respected by treating it carefully. Still i think it would be good if the pictures on the internet were more specific and could zoom in on fine details and have the hand of a person holding items to give viewers a mental picture of what to expect. I got a 22 inch mousepad board and i like it more than i thought i would, still i think i may have been better off with a 19 inch board because that extra couple inches seems large enough that i am concerned that it may be uncomfortable large at a tournament. Over all i am very satisfied

I got a good price compared to other websites, but found that the chess scorebooks themselves were of a cheaper quality than others similarly looking (the picture that accompanied the purchase offer’s ad looked like other scorebooks I have seen – but the cover and back of the pads are more flimsy)
so, rather than the best price for an item i thought i was comparing to others, i got a cheaper product.

I made a mistake about a missing dog tag – upon further investigation it turned up in the box, so please forgive my previous error. All is fine and my chess club liked the colored pieces and played several games with them. We had a black and white king rule so that any records would be assured correct. I think that you could promote the idea of “Bug Chess” with the special 128 piece bags of color pieces and some kind of temporary trophy for the current champ. I have a baseball cap with a color chess pieces patch on the front. The Kids liked to wear the hat and tried extra had to win it. After the session the hat was stored with the mixed pieces. I have ordered a number of times from WSC over the past several years and I HAVE YET TO BE DISAPPOINTED WITH EITHER THE PRODUCTS OR THE VERY PERSONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I LOVE the oversize chess pieces – and the fact that they arrived with a protective collar for the somewhat fragile sharp points on the Queens’ crowns. This set has fascinated the children in our school chess club:) The executive Staunton chess pieces are very nice in quality and feel.
In response to a WSC customer who was confused by one of the advertised products; I had a similar misunderstanding about one of the “Thursday Specials”: I wrote to WSC, received a timely response, and, in fact, WSC CORRECTED THE AD AND RESPONDED PROMPTLY AND WITH RESPECT – AND EVEN THANKED ME for my having pointed out the confusing language!
Delivery of products is always unexpectedly early . . . Do I need to go on? This company has the products, the prices, the answers, and seems to respect and truly value its customers! WHERE ELSE CAN YOU FIND SUCH A COMPANY in our “what’s in it for me” society today?!

I ordered 4 clocks ,paying $360 which was ok. However duty and shipping by UPS added another $100. PLEASE… as the clock is manufactured in USA it is not subject to duty if a NAFTA notification is provided by you.
In the future , when dealing with Canadian customers could you provide this info to customs. The charge of more than $50 was not fair.

I am writing to let you know that I love your product. But I was disappointed that three weeks ago I purchased 10 sets for $18.99 and then last week you had a sale and a similar set was only $16.99. It would have been nice for your rep to let me know that you would be having a sale in a few weeks. As a teacher there is so little money to use on these activities. I am struggling in my own mind as to the ethics of a company that would allow that kind of policy. I am not mad just disappointed and a little frustrated.

The chesspieces arrived intact & on time, price good ; good Indian workmanship. No complaints.
Only problem: I really needed smaller sizes. (3/4″base, about 2.0″ King), but could never find any. These (1″ base; 2 1/2″King) will work, but looks crowded on the beautiful ebony / Boxwood board I made. (I am a woodworker and had some 1″ Ebony stock I had to use). It has 1″ squares. Any thoughts for this smaller size under $35 – 40.00 might be helpful — even plastic, the shame!

I really enjoyed the “build your own combo” option on the website. The camo bags are awesome and the prices are great. I was a little bummed out that some of the pieces in the plastic “heavy tournament chess pieces with 3 3/4″ king” came with some goo on them. Cleaned them up though and now I really enjoy the set. Here in my office I have a sample set of cheap plastic pieces that have just the height and base width you need. They are hollow and not weighted at all but you might be able to fix that issue with some filler inside the pieces. It might even be interesting to see if you could faux paint the pieces to look like stone. Well, my creativity is getting the better of me here. Regardless, let me know when you next order and I will throw these in your box.

The chess set arrived in good condition & it is well made; but i was surprised to see that the finish on the bottom carpet wasn’t glood correctly. i guess for $103 you get a below avarage quality of finnish. Other than that it is beautifully made and my son is very proud to have his tournement set. The plastic inserts that hold the pieces is also cheaply made and not impressive, but again once you get an email that ask you’re satisfaction rate, it shows me that you guys are serious about your customer service. very impressive!!!

We purchased these pieces to accompany a homemade chess board the kids are making as gifts for their teachers. I think the sets will hold up well in classroom use. The chess pieces were weighted nicely. Even my 10 year old was impressed. We are completely satisfied with this order.

I had bought a portable wooden chess set – 14″ board – elsewhere so I could take it in to the local VA hospital and play chess with injured veterans – ones with spinal cord injuries. I have ordered a number of items from Wholesale Chess in the past and been pleased by every one. However, Order Number ——, came with a badly formed Knight and two wobbly white Queens. This set was ordered by me for an internet-less friend who intends to gift it to a handicapped player who expressed an interest in the set when he and I played on my set. So, things got a little complicated. However–your customer service people recovered very well, sending a replacement Knight and two Queens to me as soon as my friend called them. You might want to check out your manufacturer’s process, since this is the third set of this exact type that I and two friends have ordered and the first where anything at all was not 100% satisfactory from the beginning.

The chess board is excellent high quality nylon construction. It is stitched well and squares are even. An improvement that could be made is for there to be a bit of extra material outside the blocks and numbers and letters stitched onto the sides. This way my students can call out the coordinate locations by sight. Otherwise this is an excellent product and we are very satisfied.

I ordered the Premier Tournament Chess Set Combo and I was not only very pleased with how fast it arrived on my doorstep—but also the quality is VERY HIGH for something this reasonably priced.
Great price and great chess set.
The pieces are nice and heavy (triple weight I believe) the board is large and rolls out flat every time. The bag is the perfect size to accommodate the board and pieces…can fit a clock and scoring book as well.

I particularly want to thank customer service for going out of her way to help me, She gave me some off-sized sample pieces that perfectly fit a chessboard I had made without first checking available sizes. I was able to weight the bases and put on velvet bottoms and they solved my problem perfectly.

Hi guys, my last order was okay, although I would like to point out two things (they are not really complaints, just suggestions) :
1) Those inexpensive little bags with the handles for chess pieces, they need wider compartments for the vinyl boards to slide through, it’s too narrow. Really.
2) The free chess pencils could have a little more ‘mature’ look, all these glittery colors are a bit embarrassing, besides, the glitter stays in your hand! Two chess players sitting next to each other want to feel like strategic generals, not like lost princesses with glittery fingernails…..
That’s all basically, the other stuff was okay, 2 pawns had loose weights inside, but that was mentioned to me beforehand, so, no worries. Good luck

Communication and shipping were top-notch. But the small travel set (5″ Superior Wooden Magnetic Travel Chess Set with Fitted Insert) does not open fully, so the board will not lie flat when opened but at an angle. For the low sale price I can’t complain too much, but I would grade the quality of the item as C+.

The only thing I have to say is it says if you order before 11:00 EST or something like that you get free same day shipping, well I ordered my item at 6:33 AM PST and it took 3 days to get?!?? O.o` I dont think it was fair for the site to have in a big banner that if you order early in the morning same day shipping when it doesn’t happen.
Other then that I love the clock and play with it everyday and I still will be buying from your site, I just hope next time I order it at 6am PST I get it that same day like you say.

My order was shipped the next day and arrived within three days of ordering. The plastic Premier Chess set is heavily weighted and a great example of a classic Jacques style Staunton set. Frankly they are so nice that I no longer want a wooden set at all. My only complain is that I was dumb and threw away the discount slip that came in the box, thinking I wouldn’t need it before it expired, and of course now I need to order more stuff!!!

@ Mike – Mike, if you click through on that banner it explains that if you place an order before 11:00 EST we SHIP it the same day. How long it takes to ARRIVE at your home depends on what shipping option you select. I don’t think anyone offers SAME DAY DELIVERY for items crossing the US. . .

I got up early in the morning to make sure I ordered it before that time cause I did order it at 6:33AM PST which is before 11:00 EST. But it was prolly having to go across the US which is why I didnt get it same day. It doesn’t matter that much to me, I love the clock I got and play it everyday.

DGT Easy clocks are fragile. I have taken two of them apart to repair them myself. The Easy Timers have one switch on the right, and the Easy Timers Plus+ have a magnet and Reed switch on the left side. The electronics knows what to do by whether or not these switches are activated or not activated. On my Easy Timer Plus+ the magnet had broken off from where it was glued, workman ship was good. On my Easy Timer the plastic piece from the lever arm had broken off and could not depress the switch, workmanship was poor with cold solder joints throughout and burned insulation where the assembler had soldered the battery wires. . In both cases the symptom was that the clock would only count on the side that counts when the there is not activated. There is a need to be delicate with them.

We are very happy with our executive tournament chess set combo we bought on sale for $24.99. Gold Pin Chess Piece Knight seem ok but the finish is not the best. May be they can get a good one with a better finish for $3.50 or so, which will be $1.00 more.

Received my new heavy tournament chess set combo last week and have used many times already. This is the first set I’ve bought in many years and I love the professional quality. Everyone at the Spartanburg Chess Club likes the weight and feel of the pieces. I really enjoy the soft, tough new roll up board as apposed to the stiffer vinyl ones. The padding in the case adds a nice touch to the professional feel overall.

The chess set is beautiful and the delivery was timely, thanks to yourselves and UPS.
I ordered a chess set whose dark pieces were advertised as “red sandal wood’; the invoice said “rosewood”; the box containing the pieces says “redwood”. The price was as stated, $169, a good one! I paid $269 a few years ago for the same set for my nephew when he got married; figured he might need some escape.
I am not sure I would know the difference between red sandal wood and redwood. Whatever it is I like it, and will be keeping it.

I placed my order for 12″ mini giant chess set. Received in a timely manner and pieces looked great. However, when assembling included plastic mat, the pieces did not line up and would not stay clipped in place. I spoke with customer service staff who were very friendly in trying to assist me. They admitted the mat assembly was tedious, but could be done. I felt the quality did not match the $150 price I paid. In the end though, my chess set and mat is being shipped for return as we speak. I was very dissapoointed, as I had hoped to have set up for an Oktoberfest themed birthday party.

My son’s chess teacher recommended this place for buying portable chess set, one like kids use in the chess club or tournament. I got a premier tournament chess set combo for my son. It was delivered timely. Having been little bit unhappy with cheap light weight chess set, I was delighted with its big and heavy(?) pieces and board. I felt I could read moves a lot better
I just hope the pieces are robust enough to bear with my son’s butter fingers. Overall, it was worth it!

I recently ordered a 7″ wooden magnetic travel chess set for my 13 year old daughter and she loves it. It came in a soft velvet bag that is easy to slip the board in and out of and will help protect the wood from getting scratched or banged around too much in transport. The board itself seems solidly built and the wood is beautiful. The magnets didn’t seem as though they would withstand a lot of jarring, but basically serve their purpose. The item was received in a timely manner. I have no complaints and would at this time recommend WSC to others.

For the last four years I’ve orderd a wide variety of chess supplies for the members of the youth chess classes I organize and for my own children. We’ve ordered numerous bulk supplies of basic chess boards, chess pieces, and scorebooks; lots of instructional books and dvds; some computer software, heavy-weighted tournament sets with bags, chess clocks, electronic chess games, and novelties — you name it!
WSC prices simply cannot be beat, especially once one figures in the very reasonable shipping deals that are always available. The products are very accurately described on the website. And we have found that the quality of the products has ranged from very good to excellent.
Sooner or later “stuff happens,” no matter where you shop. The true test of a company is how well they respond to their customers when things are less than perfect. Over the years we’ve experienced a few incidents of shipments arriving with an item missing or damaged and one where an item was completely lost on its way here (fault of UPS). However, I could not ask for better responses from the customer service folks at WSC. They are the some of the friendliest customer care people I’ve ever dealt with and they have always resolved problems quickly and accurately.

I have been a customer for years, buying items for myself, my team, and my sister’s classroom. In all cases, wholesale chess has been prompt, courteous, and very helpful. These guys are really wonderful suppliers. They offer lots of deals on shipping, sales, and other great promotions. They almost always have the best prices, and I have been looking around for many years.
That being said, I would like to comment on a few things.
First off, wholesale chess doesn’t seem to really be a wholesaler. They start getting around wholesale prices if you buy the max quantity, but it’s still not there. This is ok by me, as I can get everything I want here for a decent, albeit not wholesale price.
Secondly, in the last year or two, they have switched the style of the basic pieces, so now they are much harder, more off-white, and overall less quality than they used to be. I wish they would go back to the softer, glossier pieces. The hard ones are more liable to crack. One rook arrived cracked, but being the wonderful supplier they are, they sent me another rook in a day, even though I had not purchased shipping that guaranteed insurance and etc.
Thirdly, I wish they would combine price matching with whatever other deals, such as shipping deals, they have. It makes no sense to match the competition and then charge as much as they do for shipping. Shipping is the number one reason I turn away from wholesale chess on the few occasions that I do.
Finally, their chess book selection is meager, full of out-of-date books, and includes no used copies. There are a few goodies out there, but these are the exception, not the rule. My demand for chess books does not go above $20, and those are for the brand new, highly reputed books. Most of the ones a year or more old go for much less on competitors’ sites, and used ones are often worth getting.
Despite these minor complaints, wholesale chess does a whole lot right, and they have earned hundreds of dollars of business from me and years of loyalty in the process. Whatever they do, they tend to do very well. Bravo, wholesale chess, bravo.

I have been shopping Wholesale Chess for 4 years now. And I rate them 95%! I do all my ordering through them so I don’t even look at other sites. Usually they are cheaper than anyone out there but this last order the item I bought was cheaper elsewhere($7 difference) I found out after it shipped and was told it was too late. Other than that one time they have always done a good job getting products to me QUICKLY, in good shape and usually the best price!

I ordered a starter vinyl board from WSC.com and I have to say I’m very satisfied with every aspect. The board arrived in good condition, at least mostly. It is made of vinyl, and when I unpacked it, the board was crumpled at one side. I worried a little about this at first, but it was nothing a big pile of heavy books couldn’t fix. Would definitely buy again from WSC.

I purchased 10 DGT Easy Game Timers Green/Red. They are listed in the catalog under Digital Clocks but this is a bit misleading. They do have an LED but they operate like an analog clock. There is no increment or delay time function. This is the only digital clock on the market that I know of that does not. One customer review says their product has a delay, but mine does not. These clocks are $10 cheaper than the standard DGT (delay) clock and so at $27 you are probably getting what you paid for. I just wish there was information on this website to compare features between products so that I understood what the differences were.

I received my order faster than expected. The pieces were exactly what I was looking for – however, two pieces had small defects which Wholesalechess.com replaced – without my even asking! Great customer service – up and beyond. One error on my part regarded the mousepad board. I looked it over with the plastic still on and it looked perfect – and I told Wholesalechess.com as much. Wen I removed the plastic later I discovered a large blob of ink on one square. My attempts to fix (a) did remove the blob to prevent smearing but (b) left a large area where the ink had rubbed off. Entirely my fault – I should have looked closer at this when I received it. Otherwise it lays perfectly flat and looks great. I’ll probably buy a replacement at a later date from this store and pay more attention for defects.
Otherwise I could not be happier with my experience with this online store and will not hesitate to make purchases here in the future.

I recieved my order without issue… The wood pieces I ordered are great except for one rook which has an imperfection on the bottom which causes it to wobble a little. It’s not a terrible defect, but for $40 I would have expected a little tighter QA.
Otherwise, great pieces… I would buy from wholesalechess.com again in the future. Overall a very good experience.

The pieces, while inexpensive, were of such quality that shortly after I got them I dropped one from just a short distance and it broke. I’ve had some other plastic pieces I got elsewhere and have dropped them repeatedly without problem. That is most certainly a waste of my time and money.

THERE’S GOOD AND BAD!
GOOD: The order arrived quickly and well packed.
GOOD: My younger grandson, who is just starting to play chess, simply ADORED the ‘Heavy Tournament Combo’ (#0527) chess set I bought for him.
BAD: The Diamond Quartz Clock (#0450) I bought for my older grandson is TERRIBLE. First of all, has anyone at WC ever read the instructions that come with them? A Google Translation from Japanese or Chinese or whatever into English would be better than that. Besides that, it seems to be poorly made and almost impossible to set both timers EXACTLY the same. To say I am most disppointed with this would be an understatement.

I ordered Chessbase 11 from WC and got my package in no time which is what I’m used when I place an order with you guys. I made use of your PriceMatch service and saved me some dollars. Just another reason why I shop at Wholesale Chess.
There was a little problem at the UPS tracking page which showed two different destinations for my package. We weren’t able to determine with certainty what caused such an error. Perhaps what happened was that they were given my billing address first and then my corrected it and put my shipping address but forgot to correct all the fields on the shipping form. That is my guess.
Other than that, the transaction went pretty smooth. I’ll do business with WC again in the future.

The bag is great. The timer could be better. The time is great, but could have some modifications to how you start. The time should start after white has made the first move and hits the timer to start blacks time, instead of pressing play and white loses a couple of seconds

I ordered Deep Rybka 4 Multiprocessor version and the associated Rybka 4 Multiprocessor Book, which is chess playing software and the opening book. The chess software is amazing and I highly recommend it. The Rybka 4 Book was very difficult to use and the instructions don’t work. Fortunately, I was able to figure out how to copy the necessary files onto my computer and get it going. The Rybka web site wasn’t too helpful either. So, I would say I am real happy with the Rybka software, but not the Book. Wholesale Chess has always been extremely helpful, and the shipping time was quick even during the holidays. Thanks!

i feel the mini giant chess set was overpriced, but i was shocked by other smaller sets being like 300$!
i wish there was an intermediate set(s) available with the king size(s) more than 4 inches but less than 12.

I love the chess board. It was difficult to find a board with 2 3/4″ squares, and I was very pleassed that wholesalechess.com carried it. I also received the 5″ wooden chess set free with my order. It is cute, but came with 2 dark queens and one dark bishop, so pretty much useless, but it was free, so how can I complain.

I love the Premier Chess Set Combo. Two extra queens, weighted pieces, a mouse-pad roll out mat (for a chess board) and a bag to carry it all in. I’m very pleased with the quality of the pieces, and the board. My only drawbacks would be that the board co-ordinates become faint if you wipe the board clean. And the bag doesn’t have much to offer when it comes to the zipper. All in all, for the price I think I got a really great deal and I’ve had a ton of fun already playing with the new set. The lifetime warranty is a real plus, too.

I’ve been ordering chess sets for the past two years (over 100 sets). The tournament sets are durable and easy to clean. Most of my sets are sent to service men and women overseas as gifts and I’ve had nothing but the best comments from their parents and loved ones about how much they’ve enjoyed the sets.
I only had one order that was incomplete; it was missing a Queen and the piece was sent out promptly.

The 40 sets are awesome. Extra queens are great, and strong, resealable bags were a nice surprise. Only concern is that the weak, Chinese box the sets were originally packed in is probably not suitable for re-shipping to customers. One whole side corner of the box was split by the time it arrived. Good customer service (although my first business transaction with them started off rocky…). I ordered a walnut lacquered chess box to give to someone as a Christmas gift this year. However, when I took the product out of its packaging, there were several scratches and marks along 2 of its sides- and it looked like the person who packed it had just eaten some greasy fries (fingerprints all over). I called and complained to the company, and they promptly sent me a new one (which arrived in 2 days- even during the holidays) along with a shipping label to cover the expense of shipping the original box back. I admit I was quite unhappy with the first product I received, but the improved replacement product and the good customer service has won back my loyalty as a customer.

I bought 3 sets of Black and White chess pieces. I am making a stained glass chess board. Was saddened that the pieces are more cream than white. But overall they are beautiful and a great find. I will just have to make my next chess board with cream and black.

I bought a magnetic chess set and it arrived quickly but when I opened it the bag holding the pieces was falling apart and I had to look for all of them in the box; and the board itself was falling apart too. I needed super glue to FIX my new chess set. Not impressed with this company would like pruduct that is not used beforehand or refurbished when used.

My 5 year old received the “Premier Tournament Chess Set Combo – Ivory and Black and the Chess Dog Tags” for Christmas. The set is fabulous. Yes, the tips of the Queen are a bit sharp. I’ve purchased quite a few sets I’m commenting on the indoor/outdoor large chess set with vinyl board. I teach chess once a week at a local school, and the set was so wildly popular with the kids I purchases a second on to stop arguments. My only complaint is the board, whose squares are much too small for the pieces; we’ve made our own, with 5 and 5 1/2 inch squares instead of the 4 inch squares of the board it comes with. Otherwise, however, I’ve never had a reaction like this in 40 years of organizing chess events. If I could afford 10 I would buy them; I expect our kids to shine at this year’s regional chess event, simply because eveyone wants to “earn” the right to play more often with one of these sets.

I have a chess club made up of 30 4th and 5th graders. I surprised them with it and they were thrilled beyond words!! The giant chess set is truly a quality item. I appreciate the fact that it comes with 4 bags in which to put the pieces for transporting and storage. I was excited to see that it also came with a viynl board (like a giant checkered tablecloth) that is easy to layout and pick up. It is actually what sold me on this set. However, I wish it was black and white instead of gold and black. My other board, purchased elsewhere, is made of interlocking pieces that is time consuming to put together, but very necessary when playing outside–but you think twice before using it because of the time involved. We have great plans for our giant chess set.

My husband wanted new chess pieces. I spent some time looking around on-line and found Wholesale Chess. Their website was the most informative, lots to choose from and the prices were good. However, the the red insert of the box which cradles the pieces looks rather flimsy in comparison to the beautiful chess pieces and came broken in several places.

I purchased a teaching mat with tripod. The teaching mat and tripod are of excellent quality. The carrying bag for the mat was of less quality – the bottom of the bag had stitching that had come apart, leaving a gaping hole requiring my time to repair (less burdensome for me to repair than spend money on the postage). Amazing experience, as far as I’m conerned. My brother is a professional chess player and a trainer. I was looking for chess sets that he could use for both his personal use, but also for his classroom.

I ordered four of the “Colored Chess Pieces – Half Set with 3 3/4 King” in different colors, and I was highly pleased. Wholesalechess had a better selection and an easier-to-use website than just about anybody else, the price was right, and the pieces are big, solid, and brightly colored. I wish shipping could have been a little faster – I almost never see small packages shipped by ground anymore – but that’s a minor complaint. I’ll definitely recommend WholesaleChess in the future.

Very happy with the Chess Trainer I ordered. I recently moved away from many of my friends with whom I played chess. Although I have found a few other players in my new center city area, I still find my new Chess Trainer to be essential in keeping my game sharp. I received my first order from Wholesale Chess, an analog chess clock. Only one side worked. I returned it and received a replacement very quickly. However, only one side of this one worked (the other side). You would think Whosale Chess would insure the products they sell work. I don’t think I will deal with them again.

I ordered a tournament-style chess set with a carrying bag (the rectangular kind with the zipper and shoulder strap) for my friend as a graduation present. It was perfect. The pieces were heavy–just how we like them–the board was flawless and the bag is well-made. We purchased the sets for our summer place up North |Deer Lake). We let ALL the children (teens and adults) who play in the park use both items. It gives them many hours of enjoyment either playing chess or checkers and even creates a group of people watching them play with it. We are very satisfied with the sets. We did not use the boards as we put in our own one using two colors of patio stones. Very pleased with it. We are sure that it will give many persons and hours of pleasure.

Matt has been helpful in suggesting a computer program susited to my present chess ability (inability) and I’m waiting for the arrival of Chess Mentor, ordered a couple of days ago. I’m a 75-year-old retired college German professor, concert pianist, have been interested in and then dropped chess three or four times in my lifetime, feeling that I never got any better at the game. Wristband sizes too large and note book not what i wanted (inside not displayed on website).
Customer service response via email too took long (3 days?!), and when eventually got to talk to a rep, she came up with no solution or compromise.

Price was great and the chess computer came relatively quickly.No complaints on the Wholesale Chess side.The only thing I would say regarding the shipper would be to include better updates on the tracking. There was spotty information on the location of the package and when it would actually arrive. Maybe it was a lower economy tier of service and they don’t include that many updates because of that.

I guess I was fooled by your photos. The board is a laminate, not wood. Also, the board is difficult to remove without spilling the pieces all over the place. Suggest you include a ribbon that can enable users to lift up and remove the board, keeping pieces in place in the compartment.

Purchased portable set with burgundy board, weighted pieces (B&W), and red case (smaller one), and all equipment is in excellent shape and seems very durable. We played several times while on vacation recently. Smell of the mat a little strong: suspect the materials need to air-out. Overall, great quality, very reasonable prices, and great play-quality. I recently purchased a tournement 4″ King Rosewood British style chess set with large mousepad 22″, and tournement bag, including a free 12″ chess set and board. Everything came in when stated. I was very pleased with the entir set and service regarding the dekivery including packageing. I have only on minor negative comment, which is not a complaint, but rather, an FYI. One piece had what looked like a slight cut or mark, approx. a quarter or third inch on the side of the base. I don’t know what the QA standard is at the manufacturer of the set, so I’m not really complaining, but it is noticable and if possible, I would rather have it replaced.

The set arrived on time and in good condition, despite the fact that the packaging was terribly beat up and re-taped in several places; my husband opened the package right away to be sure pieces inside were not damaged, which they do not appear to be.
We are having a concrete pad poured next week and will not use the chess set until it is complete.

The Collector Staunton Chess Pieces in Ivory & Red & Walnut Lacquered Chess Box. Both are excellent quality. Weight and fepdael of the pieces displayed true craftmanship. The picture requiresing as the pieces are very much both darker and more matte, than the onsite pic. Otherwise, a superior choice for gaming. Delivery speed was superior.

I purchased the 14 and 16 inch magnetic chess sets and am quite pleased with the quality of the sets.A nice feature of the set is that the magnets in the chess pieces are strong enough to hold the pieces in place when tilting the board.

Excellent products and super customer service. Very fast shipping and a vast selection of equipment, some available nowhere else (e.g., no-notation chess boards). Just as a suggesion, a no-notation board in green/white with two-inch (2″) squares would be a good thing to add to your inventory; that is the standard board size and color for the American Checker Federation (ACF) (that’s's right, checkers…) and I haven’t been able to find one in that size, color and with no notation anywhere. FYI, Checkers players do not use algebraic notation and prefer a plain, no-notation board with two-inch squares.

WE LOVE YOUR PRODUCT AND WEBSITE. THE 12 X 12 BOARDS HAVE A LITTLE PROBLEM STAYING FLAT WHEN UNFOLDED. I WOULD SUGGEST A LONGER BAG TO ROLL THE BOARD OR A SLIP RESISTANT BOTTOM THAT WOULD HELP THE BOARD LAY DOWN FLAT WHEN PLAYING.

I ordered a glass chess board with glass peices. It’s beautiful and can’t wait to give it to my dad. However, the box shows that the chess board has little pegs that it sits on…but it’s not in the box? Not sure if it’s suppose to or if the picture is misleading. But, it is still a great board.

My order arrived quickly. The instructional board has some glue issues with the magnets, but tape or superglue make that an easy fix. My only real negative is probably my own fault. I haven’t seen how to request the replacement pieces on last year’s chess set order and failed to include that need with my order. The heads snapped off of two black pawns from last year’s sets. Appears to have been a manufacturing defect.

You may need to check your inventory of the pocket-size “checkbook” magnetic travel sets. I just ordered two of them, and both sets were compressed in such a way that the print on the pieces stuck to the window pocket — and in trying to pry them loose, the print would slightly lift off, and there is a distinct “scratch line” across them where the instruction sheet was wrapped around them. Plus, many of the pieces had their icons printed off-center from the center of the disk. Also, I knew when ordering from your website that they would have a black/white checker pattern, but I had one of these from another manufacturer that used a green/white pattern — I prefer that kind, if you re-order these for your inventory.

Shipment arrived promptly. Great variety of chess gear. Was able to get in on the free upgrade promo from the Executive to Premiere Set.
Unfortunately, I noticed the zipper/zipper teeth on the bags aren’t very sturdy/hefty. Already had to re-align the zipper teeth to get the zipper back on track. Seems like the zipper could break off pretty easily with one good pull. Afraid we’ll be needing zipper/zipper teeth repair/replacement soon. Disappointed with the sturdiness of the bag, esp since my gradeschooler takes it everywhere.

Exactly as described. I did not realize how large the Tournament Set was that I ordered once it was set up. Might have bought a smaller one so my 9 year old wouldn’t struggle to take it to chess club. It’s perfect for evening games across the dining room table.

I just want to point out that I find it a bit sad that there is quite often a problem with the vinyl and especially soft mousepad boards. They are very rarely impeccable, and while it may not seem to be a major problem, it is irritating for a passionate chess player to find even slight imperfections while playing a game. It is distracting, one has to always try to ‘overlook’ that. Especially in my case, I order quite a few wooden sets of chess pieces.
If you look at professional chess tournaments, you will see that while the pieces used are mostly simple, classic style wood pieces, sometimes Staunton style, but everything is clean and organized, and there are no damaged boards.
I hope that improvements can be made, I re-ordered a soft mousepad board in forest green, and while it was in a far better condition than the one originally sent, it was not completely without imperfections either. Howeverm this time I didn’t wnat to bother calling in again, I assumed that you guys probably think I’m making this up, trying to get chess boards for free… Nothing could be further from the truth. But how could you tell?
If it would be an item on sale or in the ‘scratch ‘n’ dent section, I wouldn’t say anything, but it leaves doubt for regular future orders, as it seems to be a ‘guessing game’.
Everything else is usually fine, but the act of calling in, explaining the situation is somewhat annoying. I personally wouldn’t mind paying some money ‘on top’ of the regular prize, if somebody could actually make sure that no damaged goods are being sent.
I might be a very picky person, but then again, most [successful] chess players probably are.
I hope you don’t read too much criticism into my review, I simply wanted to point out that it is dissatisfactory to always worry about receiving non-wood chess boards with scratches.

I was happy with how quickly I received my chess pieces. I bought them to teach my children how to play. They are hooked, and we have played probably 30 games since we got the pieces a week ago. The rook was broken at the top, and I thought about sending it back, but chose to just super glue it so that I wouldn’t have to wait longer for the pieces. I was a little disappointed with the weight. It was my fault that I didn’t approximate the weight better. It is tough when you are buying pieces online. If I buy more in the future, I will be sure to buy heavier pieces. The pieces have inspired a love of chess in my kids though. Very cool.

We purchased four BHB blue clocks to replace/supplement our old BHB clocks (they were close to twenty years old!). The BHB clocks we had were excellent, so we decided to stick with that brand. I purchased an Imperfect 12 inch Superior Folding Wooden Magnetic Travel Chess Set. The Chess Set was purchased at a scratch and dent discounted price due to pre-disclosed flaws. The Chess Set arrived in the time frame promised and was found to have a minor flaw. The flaw does not detract from the function ability or appearance of the Chess set. After tearing out our kids’ swingset, we decided to put in a family “game” area instead. We built a life-size tiled checkerboard court w/pergola, and adjacent horseshoe pits. I purchesed Deep Ribka 4, 32 bit because the 64 bit was not available.
I was told by this company that it will run under WinXP-3 but I can tell you emphatically that IT WON’T!
The information for Deep Rybka 4 is that you need Vista or Windows 7 to run it and that is correct! The people here are misinformed when they tell you it will run under WinXP-3. I even did a complete re-install of the version WinZP-3 and it still WOULD NOT RUN!
However, I also run Windows 7, 64 bit and it ran Deep Rybka 4 in 32 bit mode (because it’s NOT a 64 bit program!) The program is probably the best chess machine in the world, but people need to know that it will not run under WinXP-3!!!

Hi, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been very busy. I tried the chess set and it froze. I reread the insturctions. Bought new batteries and tried it again. it froze on the first move. I reread the instructions , and pushed the reset ACL on the bottom. Now it won’t get past go. It will freeze before the first move. What’s up !

Minor complaint. Probably becuase of the mass production of pieces, a couple of pawns are odd shaped. Still usable, but for people who like uniformity, a little distracting.

Not happy with recent order. Received defective/rusty/ scratchy/ dog tags. Manager would not refund return shipping – said they were not defective. If this is the case, Wholesale chess is selling very poor quality merchandise. I never had this kind of problem in the past. I have always been pleased with the products/ service up to this point. What is happening– seems like the customer is no longer right. I will have to shop someplace else from now on.

Just bought the Saitek Competition Pro Game Clock but what bothers me right now is that my attempts to program 14 minutes for a 7 point Backgammon match fails. I succeeded to get the 14 minutes to show on the display but when I start the clock it would show 13:59 and it just stays there. What did I do wrong?

I recently ordered four Saitek chess clocks for my youth chess club and as usual, the order was shipped and received in a timely fashion. I am however, a little dissapointed in the fact that the very day I received a confirmation email that my order has been received and shipped, I get another email advertising a 10% discount for all orders. It would have been nice if someone would have contacted me and let me know that if I wait just one day, I can receive the 10% discount. It kind of ruined the purchase for me.
Other than that, I have always enjoyed your site and service.

Purchased Item # SR0604 7″ Folding Wood MAGNETIC chess set on 4/10/12 intending to use it on trip. About the 5th time I opened the set the clasp broke (pin not long enough to keep the clasp in the mechanism) so did not use it much because afraid the set would open and pieces would be lost. The pieces are nice and they do stay on the board while playing but not now suitable for travel.
