I purchased a Chronos touch clock from wholesale chess. At first I had a hard time understanding how to use the clock in spite of a long detailed instruction booklet. I called Caleb and asked to exchange for another product. Caleb was friendly and more than willing to exchange for another clock or product. As it turns out, I kept the Chronos, and got enough settings working to meet my needs. I was reassured if a problem comes up, Caleb and staff will take care of it… I would do business with them again.

Recently purchased a Chess engine from Wholesale Chess. The product was delivered with an incorrect serial number. I attempted to work with the Product support team. They did identify the issue, but, passed me on to other Product personnel for a new serial number. Matt, at Wholesale Chess, was monitoring the progress and as soon as he saw that there would be significant delays, he jumped in and issued me a serial number that worked and I was up and running. Wholesale Chess said, “Don’t worry, we will work the issue with the manufacturer”.
Now that’s service. I’ve always felt that Wholesale Chess had great prices. Now I can add to that……GREAT SERVICE.

This was our school’s first order. Our students were thrilled with the medals and their keychain pieces! The pieces were more solid that I expected for the price. Very pleased. The medals were pretty, nicely crafted and felt heavy and ‘official’ in the hand. Our hard to please sixth graders were very excited, as were their parents.
We will order again!

I made two recent purchases from you. Both are wooden magnetic travel chess sets. One is a 14 in., o.n. —— and the other a 5 in., o.n. ——. Both were offered on sale. The bigger one is fine, in excellent condition. It is a very good looking chess set. The smaller one has a bit of an annoying problem. When it is set up on a flat surface, the hinges on the bottom side stick out enough to raise the center of the board and let the two base sides “hang” down. This creates an unsightly gap in the middle of the board. If you hold it in hand, you can lift the two halves of the board to close that gap in the middle. The hinges should have been cut in a bit deeper. Otherwise, it looks very nice.
The magnets in both sets appear to be strong enough to hold the pieces in place quite well.

I purchased Chess Wristbands on 5/26/09 on order number ——. I was a little disappointed with the product. We awarded our chess players with the wristbands and within an hour, a large portion of the black checkers had worn off. I would have thought they would have lasted longer than that. I know you didn’t make them, but you may want to change manufacturer or something. The kids were were excited when they received them, but were disappointed when the black rubbed off so quickly.

Quick question.
You guys have these super purple chess key chains. But in your color plastic pieces purple is not an option.
Why? Can you imagine purple and pink pieces? (on a black and buff roll up mat) Some of my younger or female customers sure could. How about adding those purple pieces to your other single weight plastic pieces and watch them fly off your inventory shelves???

Just a thought:
Would it be possible to have a bundled beginner set that would include the plastic pieces, board and bag along with maybe a beginner book or 2 and/or a clock. Sort of a complete beginners ultimate tournament bundle. Maybe with different arrangments and prices for the different bundles. Just a suggestion.

@Victor - I apologize that you misunderstood the shipping estimates on your order - let me help clarify what happened.
You selected UPS Ground to ship from our warehouse in Utah to zip code 27519 (North Carolina). When you made this selection, you would have seen a map on the left of your screen showing your estimated delivery time to be 4 days. Directly above that shipping map, you would have seen the following statement: “When calculating shipping times, do not include the day your order ships, holidays or weekends.” You ordered on Saturday, the 2nd. Your tracking shows we shipped your order on the 4th (Monday), and it is scheduled to arrive in 4 days from then - on the 8th - just as promised by UPS when you placed the order.
I think what you might be referring to when you say we ‘claim to ship in 2 days’ - is the statement at the bottom of your order confirmation that says “Wholesale Chess ships orders within 2 business days.” That statement refers to the time it takes for us to put your package in the mail - to send it on its journey - not how long it will take to reach you. Once again, I apologize for the misunderstanding - we do our very best at WSC to ensure prompt delivery.

@Alan - Glad you pointed out that book to us - we don’t carry them now, but I just spoke with our purchasing team, and we will be placing an order for the book before the week is over. Depending on how long it takes for us to get the book, we should have it available within a few weeks.

@ Steve - We used to carry a wonderful chess set for the blind, but the company we purchased the sets from no longer sells them to us wholesale. As a result, we unfortunately no longer carry the tactile chess board for the blind.

I need to buy a chess set for the blind, the one that the blind player uses when he is playing a sighted player on a larger board; s/he uses a smaller board to feel (both hands) the position.

@Raymond - I’m afraid they will not be replenished before the end of the sale. The Daniel King DVD’s will take a few weeks to get in. The Endgame Challenge is now out of stock - and will not be carried in the future. (An error kept the product on the site - it should now be removed.)

When I’m browsing your inventory of items on sale, I find that right after I browse any specific item of interest, and then hit the “back” button, I’m brougt back to the very first page.
I think your browser program should remember where a user last comes from, and returns him to the same location in the browsing.
An ability to allow user to choose and go to a specific page of a multi-pages selection inventory would also be helpful.

Click on that image, and a window will pop up that lists our current specials. Select the $7.99 shipping – and away you go!

We feel that our shipping fees are very competitive compared to other online chess retailers. I’m sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the look to the new website. We’ve heard a lot of positive feedback on the new look and improved functionality.
We’re always looking for improvement - and are actually currently working on a few improvements to the look and functionality on the site that will include improved search and filter capabilities. We expect the new look and functionality to be launched bit by bit over the next few months. I hope you’ll return and let us know what you think then.

I’ve spent a few hundred dollars at wholesalechess and the Customer Service is tough to beat. Unfortunately, the new web design is HORRIBLE. Multiple clicks to see a price? How many clicks just to see all of the products? Why put all the categories in thick bars up top with no semblance of organization? Now the site looks like other chess product websites — complete crap.

You caught my attention because you had a great special, EARLY08. Most of the people I know fall very often for good prices and specials like this, people usually know what they want and they just search and search until they find the best price or deal. In my case - if my first experience is good, I will recommend your store to others and will shop here again with out searching anywhere else unless for some reason you don’t have the product I’m looking for or the best price. If you cover all this, people will usually be loyal to your store and recommend it to others big time. That’s what I see in my chess club anyway. Hope this helps, thank you and great job!
