Chessbase Download Instructions
Thank you for purchasing ChessBase-brand download software! You are just seconds away from enjoying your brand new software!
- Download the ChessBase Product Installer. <----- Click on the link to download!
- Once the download has completed, run the product installer. This is done by double-clicking on the file, named CBProductInstallerSetup.msi.
- Start the product installer by double-clicking on the newly created icon on your computer's desktop.
- Log in with your ChessBase account and enter your serial number. If you don't have a ChessBase account, you can create one free of charge.
- Follow the installation instructions.
A few important notes:
* This program requires Microsoft Windows to run. If you are using a Mac-based computer, it must be in Windows virtual mode. If you need assistance on Windows virtual mode, please consult your computer's owner manual or the internet. ChessBase-brand software will NOT run natively on MacOS.
* You may install each ChessBase download on up to three (3) different computers.
* Please be sure to keep your download key safe. You will need to enter the key each time you wish to download and install the software.
Step by step instructions
It starts with the registration. The installer looks on the computer to see if you already have an account saved in ChessBase or Fritz and then offers it. Depending on the settings in the respective program with or without a password.
"Request new password" and "Create new ChessBase account" lead to our web pages. You cannot continue in the program without logging in. If you close the dialog without valid entries, it will appear again.
You will then be taken to the main dialog. Here you have to enter the product code and the security symbols. After clicking on Start, the product is entered in the store account and you are offered to download and install it.
If there is an update, it is downloaded and installed immediately after starting. The program is then restarted automatically. Depending on the Internet connection and computer, this happens so quickly that the user only notices it by a flickering at startup.
Under LOG you can see what the installer is currently doing.
Before downloading, the product is displayed and you may be asked for the language and/or the database format 2cbh/cbh if there are several versions.
Both come in a dialog if it applies to the product.
Download and installation are queried and executed after confirmation. Downloading is skipped if the file has already been downloaded. If only parts have been downloaded, only the missing files are fetched. The installation is always offered after a successful download.
