The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Fischer Spassky Series Chess set. A full tournament-sized Chess set, it features a 6.0" King with a 2.25" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a glossy finish to future accentuate the details. 

The design of the Fischer Spassky Series Chess Set is an exact reproduction of the Chess set used by the legendary American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer when he won the 1972 World Chess Championship against the reigning World Champion Grandmaster Boris Spassky in Reykjavik, Iceland. The Chess set has been designed to withstand years of use (and abuse), as it lacks many of the ornate details commonly found on Chess Sets that can be susceptible to damage in the heat of battle. For example, the Chess set features reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for unmatched durability. The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.

THE CHESSBOARD

Crafted in Spain, the House of Staunton Standard Traditional Striped Ebony / Bird's Eye Maple wooden Chessboard features Striped Ebony (dark) and Bird's Eye Maple (light) squares with a Striped Ebony frame. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5" thick, has a satin finish and a beautiful moulded edge.

THE CHESSBOX

The Large Premium Chess Box is the largest Chess Box available anywhere! It was designed specifically for Chessmen with a King Height of 6.0'' or greater and is ideal for large figurine Chess sets such as the Gods of Mythology. it features two large compartments that are lined in green billiard cloth and features brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key.
