Proudly imported from Europe, The Large Pearl wood chess set has been handcrafted and hand-finished out of the finest hornbeam natural and stained wood. It features an original design that features a look and feel that is remiscent of a traditional Staunton pattern chess set, allowing for immediate recognition and use. The Birch pieces feature an artistic design that has been hand burnt into the chess pieces by the artistans. In keeping true with it’s European heritage, the King and Queen pieces feature crowns that are made of the opposing wood type, providing a beautiful color contrast.

The complimentary chess board has been designed to provide the perfect amount of contrast for the hornbeam natural and stained chess pieces, and has a rich lacquered finish. The perimeter of the chess board features the traditional rank and file labels, and it can be folded in half for easy storage. Inside the chess board are two compartments that are designed for storing the chess pieces when not in use, providing a high level of protection
