Learn to think the same way Bobby did. This is the secret. You will be put in increasingly complex situations where you will be required to think and move the way Bobby Fischer did during his amazing career in chess. You'll be a better player after you take Bobby Fischer's Chess Course. It works.
This book is aimed at beginners and focuses exclusively on checkmating. It goes into a fair amount of detail and presents its information as a series of exercises. This format makes sense, but also prevents the book from going into any serious amount of explanation.
It doesn't really make you think like Bobby Fischer (though it does give positions he was in at various tournaments), but it's a reasonably good beginner's checkmating book for the price.
This is the BEST chess book. I keep giving it away to friends interested in chess but need help with their game. This is the 3rd time I've bought this one. Excellent !
As you can see:Skill Level: Beginner (<1200)Publisher: Random HouseISBN: 0553263153# Pages: 352Author: Bobby FischerBook Category: Intro to chessCover: PaperbackYear Published: 1982This book is only for beginners. and is an execllent addition for the student studing chess tactics.
This is a GREAT book for beginners. The description in the web page is wrong. It does not teach Bobby's insight, rather it is a beginner's book that focuses on checkmate and how to open up a castle and overpower your opponent. This is one of my 2 favorite books for beginners.
Good if you only know how the pieces move. Beyond that, this is for beginners, and not very well explained. The puzzles are for beginners, but the explanations are short and not very instructive. Though he's a great, his book is not.
