This Basic Chess Clock is an easy to use analog clock in an attractive wood case. Just wind up the movement, set the hands and you are ready to go. This chess clock is ideal for schools & clubs or for anyone who wants the simplicity of an analog chess clock.
Do not over-wind and it will provide good service to you or your club.
I'm new to the study of chess, and bought both a scratch-and-dent board with this dark wooden clock in early January 2017. (I purchased Nero High Polymer Extra Heavy Weighted Chess Pieces with Extra Queens via Amazon).
Just today (Jan. 18) a family member said, "Wow, this looks really nice!"
The clock works well so far, and adds a professional, classic touch to the chess board. The staining was done less than perfect (unevenly dried stain on some parts of the clock, but only noticeable when close up, hence, the 4 stars), but otherwise, outstanding product and customer service (I called before ordering for Q&A).
Will definitely buy again from Whole Sale Chess in the future :)
A Speed Chess Must....
Perhaps you like playing with multiple players. This is a throw back to the 70's when this is all that existed. Love it.
I wanted the classic look of a wooden analog clock, and this delivers! The clock comes pre-wound, and lasted about 72 hours(!) before needing another twist of the keys. Elegance and affordability.
The clock I received was faulty. I could not get both clocks to stop. Instead, I had both clocks running in the middle. I contacted Wholesale Chess and they sent me a fully functioning clock without me having to mail the faulty one back to them. Thanks Wholesale Chess for the hassle-free solution!
When the Basic Analog Chess Clock arrived it was well protected in the packaging and works extremely well out of the box. Great chess clock for the price and I have been using it every day. Nice wood finish, very precise for a windup. Highly polished brass bar push buttons. Excellent value!!
It came with one side barely working and when it did work it was impossible to turn off. I do NOT recommend.
I wanted an analog clock because it's traditional, and I wanted it more or less cheap just I knew it could be. I basically like this chess clock. My only --minor-- gripe is that the buttons are stiff. You can't just ever-so-lightly tap and your button goes down. You have to put your fingers together to press and make sure it does. Not a big deal as long as you know it. But it's not as slight a touch as I would like. Still, for office or casual play, it's great!
Arrived damaged cheep not worth the money or time
I have not had any luck with the analog clock. I have order three clocks and had to return two of them. The last clock I ordered was running when I open the box. I'm going digitial and hopefully they will work better.
