The Chronos GX Digital Chess Clock with Push Button Black is a new blitz version--just like the Chronos Digital Chess Clock with 2 LCD screens-yet smaller in size. This newest chess clock in the lineup from Chronos, the maker of some of the most prestigious chess timers in America, is sure to be a favorite of fine chess clock users everywhere.
It has 4 preset blitz times, 8 preset tournament controls, move counter, a new GO! time setting, and many other adjustments. It is also fully customizable and can have any delay or increment time as well--perfect for chess tournaments. It comes with a simplified Chronos manual and a 1 year warranty.
I ordered four of these for my school's chess club. They are such a hit. Students love taking their turn and hitting the clock. Now, they can truly prepare for tournaments.
This is the only clock you will ever need. It's built like a tank; I wouldn't be surprised if this clock outlived me. It has every mode you will ever need. One word of warning: the " 12 user presets" overwrte the preprogrammed modes. The clock can only remember 12 modes, including the 4 blitz and 8 tournament modes.
Bought this after DGT Easy Plus clock broke the first day of use. So far, this clock has held up well. It's not hard to set except "options", but just leaving it at "00" seems to work for everything. Overall, I'm satisfied with this clock even considering its much higher price than the DGT.
Even settings are not as complicated as I anticipated. I was actually able to figure it without watching any youtube videos. It does take me awhile but I guess everything has an learning curve.
Very good customer service, and very timely delivery.
Will definitely recommend!!
Durable. Love it!
Chronos has an elite reputation and for good reason. I still have the first one from 7 years ago and with regular play I have never had a problem (I haven't even changed the battery!). The one thing I did not like about that one was that it was a touch switch so you find yourself moving your attention from the board to the clock to confirm you have actually pressed it (confirmation beeps are not allowed at tournaments). So when I wanted a new one I knew my preference was for an actual button and was pleasantly surprised to find they come in black (instead of medicinal yellow). Best clock on the market in my opinion.
Chronos is the best. This "Blitz" version is smaller and slightly easier to program. Programming possibilities are literally endless with adjustability of every dimension of the clock (delay, increment, add before, add after, etc.)
