The Chronos GX Digital Chess Clock Touch Switch in Black is a just like the Chronos Digital Chess Clock with 2 LCD screens-yet smaller in size. It is made by Chronos, the maker of some of the most prestigious chess timers in America and is already a favorite of fine chess clock users everywhere.
This version has the "touch" sensor so that you don't push the button down; it just senses the slightest brush of your finger! It has 4 preset blitz times, 8 preset tournament controls, move counter, a new GO! time setting, and many other adjustments. It is also fully customizable and can have any delay or increment time as well--perfect for chess tournaments. It comes with a simplified Chronos manual and a 1 year warranty.
Very durable will buy more
My team loves the new clocks for our team! We look like a real team now after our clock upgrade. We can't wait to buy more!
My lady almost stopped paying attention to me, until I got a Chronos GX, now she won't leave me alone! Best money I've ever spent!
Best clock on the market
Maybe I'm just not technically savy, but I find the directions impossible to follow. They don't explain their own language. To program it you have to use a combination of 3 buttons to set everything. It just isn't easy to follow. I still haven't figured it out yet....I'm going to have to try to find a tutorial on UTUBE or something.....I can't rate the product if I can't use it.
This clock is extremely robust and well - made. Bombproof metal case and buttons. It has a bit of a learning curve, mostly due to poorly written documentation, but it will perform just about any kind time control anyone will need. The display is crisp and clear, while the buttons work reliably in action.
Buy this clock and you will have solved your time control needs for the foreseeable future.
Pricey, but worth it.
Chronos is great. Had high expectations given all the positive reviews - but it's a great, sturdy clock with all the functions one would want. Also love the fact that it comes set up with batteries - ready to go. Definitely the best clock out there (I've tried a few others).
The small Chronos with touch sensors is the best timer I've found for speed chess. It has 4 settings - have it set for 30 / 0 for the local chess club, 5 / 0, and 2 / 12 depending on who I'm playing speed with, and 4th setting for tournaments. It's easy to set after watching the Chronos video on YouTube.
Great chess clock, easier configuration than its elder sister.
