    Wholesale Chess Advanced Chess Clock

Posted by Micah Smith on 3rd Jan 2021

Unfortunately the delay time on this clock is inaccurate. I tested the delay time on many different chess clocks. The delay time on all of the clocks I tested ran at the same speed except for the Wholesale Chess Advanced which ran faster. The easiest way to see the issue is to set the Wholesale Chess Advanced and other clocks for a 59 second delay and start the clocks at the same time. The Wholesale Chess Advanced will run out of the delay time two seconds before the other clocks (I compensated for any rounding differences so the difference isn't due to how the clocks round the seconds on the screen). If you try the same experiment but with a lower amount of delay, the difference won't be as large but there will still be a difference. Hopefully this issue can be fixed.

Exactly what you need. Nice “big clock” toughness and feel.

    Good Chess Clock

Posted by Jeff Hachtel on 23rd Dec 2020

These are the kinds of products I like, built to do the job and do it well without too much fanfare so folks can spend their money on other things they'd rather be spending their money on. Read the manual first; it takes two minutes and saves headaches and hurt egos.

    A nice chess clock but...

Posted by Mr. George Rosado on 17th Nov 2019

The clock is decent easy to set, well constructed and read as most other reviews have stated but I'm in agreement with the delay/increment function only to 59 seconds only could be increased with a "Self Entry-Delay/increment" type of operator functionality going forward upgrade would help here. I purchased 2 and would buy another set if the new function upgrade could be made. FYI.

    Best bang for the buck

Does everything you need in a real chess clock (delay, increment, multiple/single time controls, sensible presets). It's also trivial to set yourself. Bought a bunch for our chess club. Only "caveat" is that delay/increment only goes to 59 seconds. Well made, easier to use than the DGT North American (IHO).

    Clock reset

Posted by Hugo Vazquez on 25th Apr 2018

This chess clock is excellent, a very good, less expensive alternative to the DGT North American clock. However, there is one thing to be improved: the time reset process requires to turn the clock off and back on. The issue here is that the switch is of the slide type, not the button one. I'm afraid that on the long run, the switch cannot hold up heavy blitz sessions. But even so, I give it 5 stars.

This is the clock you want! EXCELLENT! well made, durable plastic and more sturdy than the DGT models; easy to use and program; I bought two of them.

    Excellent Clock

Posted by Drew Sarkisian on 14th Dec 2017

The only "flaw" with the clock is that the bonus and delay times are limited to 59 seconds or less. Otherwise, this clock is easier to set than the competition (hello DGT) and solid. Excellent, and the price is a nice bonus!

    Fit the bill

Best for the money. So far two tournaments and both settings were standard. Display is easy to read from far away. The National TD's liked the clock when I showed it to them.
