    I don't recommend this scorebook.

Posted by Josh on 6th Mar 2017

The pages of this scorebook are not well bound to the hardcover. They are falling out of all 4 new scorebooks that I purchased. I bought these to give as gifts to my chess students, but I would be too embarrassed to give such a gift. I strongly recommend the scorebooks with a WOVEN binding.

    Not quite right...

Posted by Mark on 24th Mar 2016

This score book came brand new with the spine and front cover partially loose....not bound to the pages. The pages were together except the first two and front cover were apart from the spine on the bottom 1 and 1/2 inches of the book. I took some "Elmer's" white glue and applied it to the loose section and applied pressure overnight. This did bind the cover and pages and spine completely together and the score book works just fine now. I do not think this is a common problem with all the books but I have purchased only one so I cannot say for sure. Nevertheless,I like the book very much.

A great way to save your games

I was immediately reminded of the old field note books that were issued to officers in the Army (and probably still are). I selected my book in green and the color was exactly as described. I wanted a score book that would survive being jostled and occasionally handled roughly by young players. This book is a little more expensive than the spiral bound notebooks or pads. If you are like me and enjoy going over games you played many moons ago, then this is a book that will protect those notes, so you can do so.

    slightly messed up

I opened the package and noticed the spine of the book was not entirely attached, but it's still on enough to function as necessary. Slightly disappointed with t.

Personalize the books and your chess kids will love them.

Posted by Unknown on 10th Sep 2014

I teach chess from grades 1 - 12. I used to have a problem getting my chess kids to keep notation. This year I switched from loose sheets to the hardcover books.

    Personalizing makes a big difference.

Wholesale chess only had green and grey when I ordered, but I got enough that each kid could choose their color. I used a cursive font to put my kid's name on address labels, which adhere nicely to the front of the books.

All of my kids love their notation books.

Hard Cover Chess Scorebook 3 Stars

Typical scorebook of this type. Mass produced in China, these scorebooks almost always have pages cut at odd angles and are usually somewhat misaligned. That being said, they get the job done and are more durable than the spiral paper scorebooks.

Good product for our 7 yr old to learn to write down her chess moves. She's very proud of it since it is such a nice hard-bound book.

The order was exact as I ordered it, but one(1) minor complaint: a few pages in one of the books fell out(as best I can tell there was a problem with the sewn-in pages) But I will certainly continue to order at wholesale chess.
