The Big Knight Series Chess Pieces from Wholesale Chess are the best value for your money. With a 3 7/8" King and a set that weighs 2 lb 5 oz, these ivory and black pieces have the look and feel of many sets costing more than twice the price. Each set comes with extra queens and fits perfects on a 2" to 2 1/4" square.
Very nice set big knight series is very nice i reccomend it to anyone. Pieces are very heavy and easy to use for tournament play. I would purchase off of wholesale chess again.
Pieces are impressive and seem well made. A fine value.
This set is a good combination of being well-designed and reasonably priced. It's a great set if you "love your knights," obviously, because it features an unusual knight. But there are also nice features. I like the height of the pawns, and the simple, strong rook. On a critical note, I have received some pieces with questionable workmanship(defects). But I still give this product five stars, because all I had to do was request replacements for the pieces I didn't like and they sent me good replacements, "no questions asked." WSC will "make it right" by you. In a retail environment, you can only take the whole set back. I have been a WSC customer for many years now, and I highly recommend them!
I like pieces which are weighted and well made. This set qualifies.
For the money, I think this is the best chess set to get. And wholesale chess had the best price I have found. Very happy with transaction with wholesale chess.
this is generally a nice chess set but not perfect. it is weighted but could be a tiny bit heavier. the queen is too short, should be closer to the king's height. the bishops could be heftier. the knights are superb. i did get one unweighted queen in the set but i also got an extra pawn, so that's a push.
The set looks nice, but that's not the best reason to get it.
The knight gets some cool detail and is obviously bigger than usual, but still not the best reason to get it.
The pieces are pretty beefy, it comes with deuce queens, the ivory shines, the black looks tough as three ninjas cutting your birthday cake, and it's priced fairly.
Speaking of fairness, my only issue is the thin paper felt and the queen seeming small compared to every other piece. But that's merely because the bishop, rook and knight all get their due diligence. Great for speed games and lookin' dope on my mousepad board, it'll be sweet for years to come.
And, no, I'm not a hipster. Just a thirty-six year old in the middle of a midlife crisis with too many chess sets and not enough rivals. Yeah, it's sad, but, hey, just buy the set, aight?
