Burlwood Pattern Chess Box

I bought a slightly imperfect box for less than half price. (The imperfection is not noticeable.) The box is beautiful, well constructed, and large - it should be able to hold any Staunton sets with a 4 inch king. The exterior has highly polished burlwood, and the interior is nicely cushioned with green felt. A great deal even at the regular price, given that comparable boxes sell for over $100 on other vendors' websites. Very pleased with my purchase.

This box is beautiful! It will easily hold "4 inch King" sets without a problem. I love it. The craftmanship is awesome. I really like just looking at in on my chess table. Definetely a piece of artwork that will compliment the space you set it on.

Absolutely gorgeous chess box, the grain and color of this box is so elegant and shiny, it seems as if the box was carved out of a single block of wood. Excellent craftsmanship and the hinges and lock have a real yesterday feel to it. The interior velvet is lined so beautiful, and the cuts and folds are so precisely done. For the price of $69.99, you simply cannot find a better box on the web than this. I would dare to say this box looks as good, if not better than most boxes costing 2 times as much, seriously! My chess box arrived in a timely fashion and extremely well packaged. It is beautifully made and VERY nicely finished. The hinges are recessed and work flawlessly
I would not hesitate to recommend this well crafted box to anyone. It is a piece of furniture...an accent piece ....that will provide much enjoyment.

These boxes are really good quality for the money and nice variations to chess storage. Others have billiard cloth which are much nicer but they are also more expensive.

Gorgeous box with polished finish. Large pieces (up to 4", plus extra Queens) fit easily. Very classy look.

This is a beautiful, well made box, but the dimensions are wrong--happily. The height of the one I ordered was 4 3/4", not 4", so my large set (4.5") with four queens fit in with just a bit of ingenuity. None of the three boxes offered here have the same dimensions listed although they all appear to have been manufactured the same. If you need an exact size, I wouldn't order one of these until a rep from the store checks the actual dimensions for you. If it's the right size, get it--a great deal on a beautiful box.

Solid and attractive box and divider inside. Easily holds my 4" King and extra Queens wooden set. Recommended.
