The Archer's Complete Chess Set Combo is a favorite because of the bag. The Archer Bag is a twist on the classic quiver that holds an archer's arrows as he sets off after wild game. With a game of chess no less a challenge, just toss this set over your shoulder and set out to seize your prey!
This set comes with the Archer Bag in a color of your choice plus a matching Basic Board (The Camo Brown set comes with a green board and the Camo Pink set comes with a pink board). Also included is a set of Basic Pieces—with extra queens, of course. With the handy strap on the Archer Bag, you can throw this set over your shoulder and you're ready to go. Good hunting!

I was pleasantly surprised with weight and feel of pieces.
Lovely set, nice quality -- for the price ($10), how can you go wrong. Pieces are heavy enough to stay in place and they look good. We'll sre how long it holds up, but so far the students using it are very happy.
One of the white rooks is missing and an additional white pawn was put in the package. The chess set is useless without the complete pieces so to me i am not satisfied at all.
We bought a bunch of these for our university club for a couple reasons, those reasons mainly being cost and portability. At $15 a set, these are pretty much unbeatable for a school team. The mats are high quality vinyl, they roll up easily, and fit well in their travel case. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the quality of the pieces. They are perfectly functioning, but the plastic is cheap and a few of the pieces I received had some minor scratches and warping. They are fairly light, but that's what I expected from a non-weighted set. Just a warning, we got one of our mats wet and it got a little wrinkly, so take care not to spill or play in the rain like we did. Overall fantastic boards that I would highly recommend.
This set is a very (and I mean very) basic plastic set with vinyl board and carry case. The case is nice, an easy way to grab your set for the coffee shop or park (more about that later).
The first thing you notice is the SMELL. It is horrendous. It mostly comes from the board itself but the pieces also smelled. The smell even permeates into the carry case. You will need to air the whole set for a while. The board still smells slightly, will try Febreze on the back to see if it helps.
Now on to the set. It is a very cheap plastic set. The weight is almost non-existent. I do not know when I have had a set that is lighter, perhaps a cheap plastic set from the dollar store. You could take it to the park but a strong wind might blow some of the pieces over. I'm serious.
I only paid $10.99 on the Labor Day sale, and for that price it is barely worth it. The usual price of $24.99? I think you would be VERY sorely disappointed.
I give it 3 stars because of the case, portability, and the price I paid. If you can get it for $10.99 or less I would say buy it.
I loved my set because it was very mobile so I could take my game to the streets.
The young would no doubt love the ARCHER Chess Set Combo. For the price its a winner. I would prefer a better quality though. Well, you can't have everything.
My grandson liked the portability of the archer container, and he now has a set 'just like they use in tournaments' to practice with.
For the price I don't think you can beat it, Quality at a very reasonable price !! Plus you can take it with you where ever you choose to go. I would give the set 5 stars without hesitation !
The book has a lot of information for the beginning chess player and it is easy to comprehend.
