The Triple Weighted Archer Chess Set Combo is a favorite because of the bag and the heavy pieces. The Archer Bag is a twist on the classic quiver that holds an archer's arrows as he sets off after wild game. With a game of chess no less a challenge, just toss this set over your shoulder and set out to seize your prey!
This set comes with the Archer Bag in a color of your choice plus a matching Basic Board (The Camo Brown set comes with a green board and the Camo Pink set comes with a pink board). Also included is a set of Triple Weighted Pieces—with extra queen of course. With the handy strap on the Archer Bag, you can throw this set over your shoulder and you're ready to go. Good hunting!
This set includes:
Very nice weight to the pieces and the roll-out board feels all-right and stays flat once rolled out. Some of the weights in the pieces are loose and there is flash left over from the molding process on all of the pieces. Not much flash, but enough to make the pieces feel rough - especially the pawns. The bishops in particular have flash that bridges the gap in the diagonal cut at the top of them. The plastic has a nice hard resin feel to it otherwise. I'm spending some time with small files and sandpaper to clean them up... ok quality for the price, and maybe the best quality one can hope for in a plastic piece? There might be a market for higher quality plastic or resin (melamine?) pieces.
Great weighted set, inexpensive and now I don’t have for the mat anymore....fits easily in my backpack....I totally recommend to my friends at my Chess Club.
The mat is a good material and so are the pieces, the wide base and the weight makes it feel excellent. The only problems I have with it are that the carrying bag feels pretty flimsy and the top (where the zipper circle is) is very thin and looks like it could rip very easily, and 3 or 4 pieces have the weights in them jiggle a little bit which isn't actually a problem at all its just a slight inconsistency. I thought I might have problems with the mat trying to curl after being in the carrying case for so long tubed up, but it flattens out and holds flat extremely well, as the material isn't prone to trying to hold its shape. Overall very satisfied for the price and the only upgrade I could think of is to get a better carrying case.
