This is the second volume in the Richter-Rauzer series. It covers the lines in which Black plays 6....e6 7 Qd2 a6. The previous Modern Richter-Rauzer treated variations with other than 6....e6. The concluding volume (Classical Richter-Rauzer) covering 6eeeee6 7 Qd2 Be7 is still under preparation. While the variantions treated in this volume tend to require precise treatment by Black, they are not beyond the capabilities of the average player and do give Black a very reasonable endgame. The material is covered from the Black point of view, and in many variations it is Black which dictates the choice of variation.
